Cathi Swan
Superintendent
Cathi Swan has been the State Coordinator of Digital Learning for 11 years. She also serves as the Superintendent of Virtual Arkansas and coordinates a team of digital learning support specialists that assist schools implementing true blended learning environments for students. The State Coordinator position is one that is shared by the Arkansas Department of Education and the Arkansas Education Service Cooperatives in the state. She also serves as a liaison between the Arkansas DOE and the Cooperative Technology Coordinators that serve public schools. She is a member of the Arkansas Distance Learning Coordinating Council which is a legislative council that reports to the Governor.
Prior to this position, she was a K-12 Principal in a rural school district and utilized distance learning technologies to provide access and equity to the students. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas @ Monticello and is seeking a Specialist’s Degree through the University of Arkansas @ Fayetteville.
